Great Calendar! Sad to see it ending... January 8, 2002 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Far Side always brings a smile to my face and to see this great calendar series come to an end is a sad event, indeed. For this last hoorah, Gary Larson made SIX different boxes for the day-to-day calendars. So there is definately the cow, but you may get a bear or humans. The box the calendar comes in has a flap that lifts open presenting a farewell from Gary. Inside you'll find the traditional day-to-day calendar in the plastic holder and instructions for setting it up. The pictures are all black and white except for every monday (and no, the last one isn't in color)and the quality of the calendar is top notch. It's sad to see these calendars go but life will go on. But these calendars can envoke warm memories and make a day just a tad brighter.
It's a Calendar! It's Far Side! December 30, 2001 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
All the right dates on all the right dates. Feel confident that when this calendar reports that May 6, 2002 falls on a Monday it realy will fall on a Monday. While the Far Side grows more as an episode of nostalgia now rather than a new experience it is a good sort of nostalgia (unlike the Brady Bunch or Sally Struthers). Also the more you read these and you realize that Gary Larson is still free, the more confident you can be that the men in white coats and their straight jackets won't be coming for you next.
A GREAT Calendar, I HOPE! December 18, 2001 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Every year since they've been published, I have bought my son a Gary Larsen "page-a-day-type" calendar. I'm ordering this one, HOPING it is the page-a-day calendar he has loved all these years, although nothing in the description says so. I don't know what "box calendar" means...I WISH the description were more explicit. These calendars have brought both of us many laughs over the years.
the Far Side of my Daughter December 16, 2001 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
For Hanukkah each year I never know what to buy my ex-husband. Ok, I know this sounds a little strange, but it's about the kids, right.I bought him this and he and my daughter laughed and laughed. They are both sarcastic and "got the joke." If you know someone with a dry sense of humor, this is perfect.
