Unforgettable and Unique! January 9, 2009 Amazing book! A wonderful world of fascinating characters, haunting history and sweet humor. I loved this book and will surely read it again. I'm also recommending it to everyone I know. Brilliant writing!
good as pie January 8, 2009 For a novel told strictly through letters it is hard to convey information sometimes and even limits plot points for a writer, but these women who authored this book did an outstanding job creating a full, populated world without sacrificing anything. I loved the hominess of the book and the feeling of piecing together the story bit by bit. Similar to a "diary format", this novel lets you enter immediately into the characters' lives and use your own imagination to fill in the blanks. This is a perfect read for bibliophiles who take pride in their book collection. Fine story.
Love this book January 6, 2009 You know you love a book when you hold it to your heart when you are finished and you are sorry it's over. This has to be the best book I have read in a long time...and I read a LOT.. This book is a treat and I encourage everyone to read it I dearly loved it Joan Omstead
Fascinating history in letter form January 6, 2009 The quirky characters come to life via letters in this wonderful read that also educates about life during and post WWII. I found myself drawn in immediately and didn't want this book to end.
Exactly what you need on a cold and rainy winter night January 6, 2009 The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was an absolute joy. Wonderful story. Hate to be cliche but made me laugh and cry. Smiling at the end. Sometimes thats all you need.
