A Nursing Bible! October 13, 2008 It's big and cumbersome (there is a version where it's in two smaller volumes) but it has tons of information that every nursing student needs to have at their fingertips. It's very useful for writing careplans and doing papers for Capstone as well as for general studies.
so-so September 15, 2008 This book has a lot of information in it. I think it could stand to be trimmed down, made more concise and better organized. It does have some care plans in it, which some will find useful. It also has pretty good explanations of pt illnesses and what to focus on. Overall, this book is so-so.
Not what you think it is! September 3, 2008 The title of this textbook makes it sound like you are buying both volumes of this book when in reality you are only buying the first volume. I was very disappointed with this order because I need this book for a class I am taking, and am now behind because I only received the one volume instead of the two volumes that I thought I was ordering. Very dissatisfied!
An awsome book that will get alot of use August 19, 2008 The book is big, but it is a nice reference till I take Med. Surg. Love it.
I disagree! August 14, 2008 Initially assigned the "Iggy" Med-surg nursing textbook for school, I bought the Brunner-Suddarth text for my own benefit. When studying for exams such as the HESI and NCLEX, Iggy lacked 50% of the topics included in this text. It's easier to read, contains multiple diagrams and illustrations, and is one that I plan to keep in my library throughout my nursing career. I think that I appreciated the expansive coverage of topics and nursing procedures - this is what you need to know for the national exam! I reread the entire text prior to taking the NCLEX and was extremely confidant heading into the exam - and passed in 75 questions. Thanks Brunner and Suddarth!!
